King City takes gold

Four wins on Saturday earned the King City Lady Mustang volleyball team the championship of the Gold Division at Saturday’s Everett Alvarez Volleyball Tournament in Salinas.

King City frosh-soph win invitational title

With wins in four events and multiple points in many events the King City High frosh-soph boys track team won their division at the King City Lions’ and Young Farmers’ 74th Invitational Track Meet. Esteban Deniz led the Broncos with wins in the 1600 and 3200.

Natividad offers sports physicals at Gonzales

Natividad Medical Center from Salinas sent many doctors and interns to Gonzales High last Thursday and provided free sport physicals to the student athletes that will be participating in extra-curricular sports this year.

Lady Mustangs beat Gonzales

Delaney Carroll and Alyssa Richardson scored in double figures to lead the King City Lady Mustang basketball to a 46-34 win over Gonzales High in the varsity game of the King City Christmas Classic.

Flag football teams ready for tournament

With the regular season complete, teams from the Shield Bearers Flag Football Program of Gonzales will begin the first round of the league tournament on Friday as the second and third place teams in each conference will play each other for the right to play the conference leader in a double header for the league title.
