Heritage hog sells for $119K

This year’s Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Animal, a 255-pound hog raised by Alexandria Burgess of Hilltown 4-H Club, was sold for $470 per pound, bringing in roughly $119,850 for the Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation during last Saturday’s Junior Livestock Auction at the fairgrounds in King City.

City of Gonzales to end fiscal year in good condition

The fiscal year 2018-19 is drawing to a close, and the City of Gonzales’ end-of-year budget numbers are coming in overall as expected with a few items not bringing in revenue and some using fewer funds than projected.
