Telemundo 23 news anchor and producer Stephanie Magallon was the keynote speaker and special guest of the Gonzales High School girl’s tennis team Nov. 17 for the team awards night at the Toots Vosti Recreation Center in Gonzales.

A magical season ended at Monterey Peninsula College for the Gonzales High football teams as they were beaten 57-14 last Saturday by the Carmel Padres in the Central Coast Section Division V semifinals.

For the first time this season, the Gonzales High varsity volleyball team won back-to-back games, avenging an earlier loss to Pajaro Valley and beating the North Monterey County Condors for the second time in divisional play.

On Friday night, the Spartans made their own mark on history with a decisive 33-13 victory over the King City Mustangs in front of a supportive crowd at Dick Force Stadium.
