MEALS AND ACTIVITIES

SALINAS VALLEY — Monterey County Free Libraries has announced its free Grab and Go Meals and Activity Bags for youth 18 and under through Dec. 20. The program re-started in late September and will continue at South Monterey County locations through to the end of the year. Gonzales Library hosts pickup on Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Greenfield Library hosts pickup on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. King City Library hosts pickup on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. San Ardo Library hosts pickup on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. San Lucas Library hosts pickup on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Soledad Library hosts pickup on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.


FAMILIES MATTER

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Behavioral Health is hosting a Families Matter series every Tuesday at 7 p.m. The online series focuses on adolescent mental health and supports parents and caregivers. The lineup is: Oct. 13, “Understanding Trauma and Its Effects;” Oct. 20, parent forum; Oct. 27, “Anxiety;” Nov. 3, “Depression in Children;” and Nov. 10, parent forum.


VIRTUAL LUNCHEON

KING CITY — The first virtual luncheon for the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture was held Oct. 1, with 14 attendees who heard a presentation from Andrea Zoodsma of the Visiting Nurses Association. She discussed the importance of flu shots and how long it remains effective, and the peak of the season upcoming in December or January. Chamber Manager Janet Bessemer said another virtual luncheon is being planned for November.
