SOLEDAD — CRU Winery’s Sierra Madre Vineyard Pinot Noir has won Best Pinot Noir of Show at the 2022 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.

Planted in 1971, the Sierra Madre Vineyard is located in Santa Maria Valley and is known for producing high quality chardonnay and pinot noir. CRU Winery has crafted single vineyard chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot noir clonal selections from this prestigious vineyard for over 10 years.

In addition to the Best Pinot Noir of Show win, CRU Winery also received gold medals on its 2020 Albariño and 2020 Unoaked Chardonnay at the 2022 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.

Produced by the San Diego County Fair, the Toast of the Coast Wine Competition celebrates wineries producing the finest quality wines. This year’s Toast of the Coast Wine Festival took place June 11 at the San Diego County Fair.

The 2019 Sierra Madre Vineyard Pinot Noir and CRU’s other award-winning wines can be tasted at both CRU Winery tasting rooms located in Monterey County (37500 Foothill Road in Soledad) and the Central Valley (20146 Road 21 in Madera).
