William (Bill) E. Callahan, Jr. died June 1, 2018 at Westland House, Monterey, California. William was born March 13, 1934 in Salinas, California.

Bill attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Gonzales High School and after graduation went into the U.S. Army during the Korean War.For fifty years Bill was owner of Callahan Construction Company in Carmel, California and built some beautiful homes in the Carmel, Monterey and Murphy cities taking great pride in his workmanship.

As a young man he enjoyed spending time with his father training Springer Spaniels for field trials and all of their hunting trips. Bill is pre-deceased by his parents William E. Callahan, Sr. and Frances Nason Callahan. He was fifth generation of Monterey County, California.

Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nancy Gaylord-Callahan; son David Callahan; sister Kathleen A. Callahan; step-son David DiRienzo; granddaughters Hailey DiRienzo and Grace Callahan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Colleen, Colette, Dennis and Daniel Titgen.

There will be a Celebration of Life June 23rd at 3 p.m. for Bill at the American Legion Post 512, Delores and Eighth Streets, Carmel, California. Please don’t wear black as we are to celebrate Bill’s life!
