SALINAS VALLEY — King City High baseball players Jacoby Chavez and Joel Pina were named the Offensive Player of the Year and the Pitcher of the Year, respectively, for the Cypress Division of the Pacific Coast Athletic League at a meeting of division coaches.

Joining Chavez and Pina as a first-team all-league selection was teammate Joaquin Sabala. Noah Villalobos of Gonzales also joined the Mustang players on the Cypress first-team.

Chosen to the Cypress second-team were: RJ Ayon, Dylan Conatser, Pablo Aguirre and Ernesto Aguirre of King City, and Juan Arriola of Gonzales. Axel Chavez-Torres of King City and Moises Castro of Gonzales were picked as members of the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team.

Soledad High baseball was represented on the Gabilan Division first-team all-league by Ethan Sanchez and on the second-team by Juan Esparza. Daniel Garcia of Soledad was named to the Sportsmanship team and the Aztec team was the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Team of the Year.

Greenfield High had Kenny Pajas chosen as a second-team all-league player and teammate Francisco Hernandez was a Sportsmanship team player.

In softball, King City had Alizah Carrillo and Avery Munoz chosen to the Mission Division first-team all-league and Taelyn Munoz and Crystal Paramo chosen as second-team players.

From Soledad, Andria Leyba and Delylah Ocampo were named second-team players. Chosen to the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team were Kaylin Arvizu of King City and Cayden Lopez of Soledad.

Chloe Zavala of Greenfield was chosen as the Cypress Division Pitcher of the Year and was a first-team all-league selection, along with Marianna Camerena of Gonzales. Chosen as second-team players were Hana Camarena of Gonzales and Camila Lara of Greenfield. 

Lexy Tamayo of Greenfield and Alizel Mauro of Gonzales were chosen to the Richard Chamberlin All-Sportsmanship Team. Greenfield was the division’s Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship team.
