SALINAS VALLEY — National Night Out was held throughout the Salinas Valley on Aug. 3 as part of a nationwide series of community events to build relationships between law enforcement and residents.

People could speak directly with police officers and other emergency personnel, as well as visit numerous community booths and get free treats in the cities of Gonzales, Soledad and Greenfield.

Emergency vehicles from local police and fire departments were also on display.

Last year’s Night Out events were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
