FREE PET FOOD

GREENFIELD — The SPCA of Monterey County will host a free pet food bank on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Patriot Park, 1351 Oak Ave. in Greenfield. SPCA has already given out more than 43,000 pounds of pet food, helping 4,228 pets stay with their families, from ongoing free food events not only in Greenfield, but also in Castroville and at its Highway 68 location. BOOSTER CLUB

GREENFIELD — Greenfield FFA Boosters Club is looking for new members to join the club for its next meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, via Zoom at 6 p.m. The members of the Boosters Club support and recognize the efforts of FFA Chapter members, organize fundraisers, have ongoing dialogue with the community to increase awareness of Greenfield FFA and seek year-round involvement with other parents and community members. INCREASED TRAINING

CAMP ROBERTS — There will be increased military training activity this week at Camp Roberts, located near San Miguel in both southern Monterey and northern San Luis Obispo counties. The activity includes loud artillery and explosive noises that will last into the evening hours until Aug. 28. Surrounding areas may experience increased noise levels, officials said.
