WALKING TOURS

KING CITY — A walking tour of historic Highway 101 in Downtown King City is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25. Led by local historians John and Karen Jernigan, the walk generally lasts about 75 to 90 minutes and covers about a mile in distance. FALL MARKET

GREENFIELD — Scheid Vineyards will be hosting a Fall Market on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 12 to 4 p.m., featuring handmade artisanal wreaths by Creekside Farms, a three-generation family-owned and –operated farm in Monterey County. Food and live music will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. Scheid Vineyards is located at 1972 Hobson Ave. in Greenfield.


PARK CLOSURE

KING CITY — The City of King has temporarily closed the “Tot Lot” at City Park for repairs, from Sept. 20 to Oct. 8. The playground, geared toward children ages 2 to 5, is located on the corner of South San Lorenzo and Division streets near the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds. City staff and contractors will be removing and replacing the “pour-n-play” rubberized surface located underneath the play structure. Other local playgrounds with features designed for younger children can be found at Forden Park on Canal Street and Rio Vista Drive and the Pocket Park, located at Beech and King streets.
