SPOOKFEST

SOLEDAD — The Fifth Annual Front Street’s Spookfest & Trunk or Treat will take place on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cesar Chavez Park in Soledad. The free, family-friendly event will include a variety of festive activities, such as games, a costume contest, pumpkin painting and a spooky house. FALL FESTIVAL

KING CITY — King City Library is hosting its 2024 Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 402 Broadway St. This family-friendly event will feature a range of activities, including games, a costume contest, mask and pumpkin decorating (while supplies last), a scavenger hunt and a photo station. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the King City Library and is open to all. Those needing a Spanish or sign language interpreter are encouraged to contact the library at 831-386-6885 in advance to ensure accommodations.


TRUNK OR TREAT

KING CITY — King City Recreation Department will host its seventh annual Trunk or Treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds Expo Lawn. The family-friendly event is free for children and features businesses, organizations and community members decorating the trunks of their cars for Halloween and passing out candy. BONUS BRIEF: CANDLELIGHT CONCERT

SALINAS — Fever’s Candlelight concert series is set to light up Salinas Valley Community Church in Salinas with special Halloween-themed shows on Oct. 31 at 6:30 and 9 p.m. These haunted evenings will feature favorite movie soundtracks, including “The Addams Family,” “Beetlejuice,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Exorcist,” “Thriller” and more. The unique musical program welcomes everyone ages 8 and up and promises to be a fun and spooky night for all. Candlelight Concerts are a series of original music concerts created by Fever aimed at democratizing the access to classical music. This innovative format represents a unique live musical experience through a varied offer of programs to meet all tastes, played by local musicians, in emblematic venues, with the space and performers illuminated by thousands of candles.
