KING CITY — Sun Street Centers will host a car wash fundraiser to support its Men and Women’s Residential Program in King City on Saturday, May 27. MEMORIAL BBQS

SALINAS VALLEY — King City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6747 will host a drive-thru Memorial Day BBQ on Monday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the VFW, 599 Bitterwater Road. The meal includes barbecued St. Louis style ribs, beans and salad. Tickets are available in advance at the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture office, 200 Broadway St., or at the door. In Greenfield, the local Lions Club and American Legion will host the third annual Memorial Day BBQ on Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 615 El Camino Real. The meal includes a quarter rack of barbecued pork ribs, beans and salad. There will also be a car show and crafts fair open to the community.


GUN FORUM

SOLEDAD — City of Soledad has planned a forum for Tuesday, May 30, at 6 p.m. to hear testimonials from youth and learn from experts on how to confront youth gun violence. Special guest speakers include students from Main Street Middle School. The forum takes place at Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive. For more information, contact [email protected].
