BEAUTIFICATION BBQ

KING CITY — The public is invited to the annual Beautification Week Hamburger BBQ at San Lorenzo Park in King City on Wednesday, June 12, hosted by the King City Chamber of Commerce and King City Rotary Club. The event is free thanks to the sponsorship of Waste Management. It will start at noon at the DeAnza building. Reservations are required by calling or emailing the Chamber of Commerce office at 831-385-3814 ([email protected]) by Monday, June 10. Beautification Week is scheduled June 21-30. It is jointly sponsored by the King City Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Waste Management, Salinas Valley Recycles, City of King and King City in Bloom.


CANDIDATE SEMINAR

MONTEREY COUNTY — Those interested in running for office in the Nov. 5 General Election are invited to attend a candidate seminar presented by Monterey County Elections. The seminar will take place Monday, June 10, at 6 p.m. at the Government Center at Schilling Place, Cayenne Room, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, in Salinas. This seminar will provide an overview of: requirements for office; important filing dates; Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) guidelines; and Electronic Filing (FPPC statements). 5K REGISTRATION

GONZALES — The Gonzales Rx Pharmacy 10th Annual Orange and Black 5K is planned for Thursday, July 4, at Gonzales Central Park. The run/walk event, presented by Gonzales Rotary, benefits Gonzales High School scholarships. Participants are encouraged to pre-register by June 11, as fees will increase after this date.
