KING CITY — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez will be hosting a community listening session on Monday, June 15, in King City.
The session will take place at 6 p.m. at Lopez’s Third District Office, 1011 Broadway St., Suite C. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas about the community and county government.

California Rodeo seeks national anthem singers
SALINAS — California Rodeo Salinas is accepting applications from vocalists interested in performing the national anthem during its Big Week events in July.
Selected singers will perform before the Big Week Bull Riding presented by Salinas Valley Ford on July 15 or one of the four rodeo performances scheduled July 16-19.
Applications must be submitted online by midnight June 15. Applicants are required to complete an online form and provide a video link of themselves performing the national anthem.
“The national anthem is one of the most meaningful traditions of our performances and a moment that truly brings everyone together,” said Peter Pedrazzi, chairman of the California Rodeo Salinas Music Committee. “We always appreciate the opportunity to showcase talented singers from our community as we honor our country and kick off each performance.”

Free virtual health fair set for Monday
MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Business Council and Montage Health are partnering to offer a free Virtual Health Fair for small businesses, employees and community members on Monday, June 15.
The online event will take place from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and will feature presentations and resources on mental health, heart health, nutrition and guidance on when to seek care at an urgent care center versus an emergency room.
According to organizers, the virtual format allows employers to provide wellness education to employees without requiring them to leave their workplace or home.
“Supporting the health and wellness of our workforce is critical to a strong business community,” said Jeff Ruster, executive director of the Monterey County Business Council. “We are incredibly grateful for this continued partnership with Montage Health and for the opportunity to provide free, practical wellness education to small businesses and their employees throughout Monterey County.”
