HOTSPOT TERMINATION
GONZALES — After more than three years, the T-Mobile Universal Internet Pilot Project is coming to an end in Gonzales. “The city has decided that it is in our city budgets best interest to gradually term all hotspot devices that the city provided to community members,” according to the City of Gonzales in a social media post. All hotspots will be terminated by June. There are two drop-off locations where residents can safely dispose of their hotspot devices: Gonzales City Hall, 147 Fourth St.; and Gonzales Library, 851 Fifth St.; during regular business hours. STATE OF THE CITY
SOLEDAD — The City of Soledad will host its State of the City event on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m., with presentations beginning at 6 p.m. The event will focus on “Celebrating Diversity, Building Unity: Our City, Our Future,” and will allow community members to engage with city officials and learn about current and upcoming initiatives, including developments in such areas as roads, safety, water, development and parks.
FIREWORKS BOOTHS
KING CITY — Applications for King City’s July 4 fireworks booths are now available online at the City’s website kingcity.com, under “Documents and Forms – Applications.” The deadline for submitting applications to City Hall is March 7 at 5 p.m. Three permits will be available for nonprofit organizations to utilize for community fundraising. If the City receives more than three applications, permits will be awarded through a lottery selection process. There is an application fee of $35 and permit fee of $375. Fireworks may be sold from noon June 28 through July 4. The lottery to select the applicant will take place on March 26. Contact City Hall at 831-386-5925 for more information.
