GREENFIELD — Monterey County internet radio station The Barrel of Rock, through a deal with its distributor LIVE365, has signed an agreement with the subscription service TuneIn On Air.

This agreement will allow The Barrel of Rock to expand its reach to 30 million U.S.-based listeners via TuneIn’s app and 200-plus connected devices and auto partners, which include Tesla, Volvo, Sonos, Amazon, Samsung and others. With more than 75 million monthly active users, TuneIn is one of the most widely used streaming audio platforms in the world.

The Barrel of Rock, owned and operated by national award-winning broadcaster Matthew Arnett, went on the air to rock the world from the middle of a Greenfield vineyard just over a year ago.

The station is available for free on its website TheBarrelofRock.com, where listeners can “just hit play and rock all day.” The Barrel of Rock already enjoys a worldwide following, but this deal will make it easier to access for the 75 million monthly active users who already subscribe to TuneIn.

“The best thing about broadcasting on the internet is our worldwide reach with no static at all, but for us to be available with the push of the button in people’s cars, audio systems, Smart TVs and Smart phones is just huge,” Arnett said. “Now The Barrel of Rock is on an equal playing field with the best broadcasters and podcasters in the world right at a time we are ready to compete with them.”

TuneIn, the world’s leading live streaming service, brings together live sports, news, music, podcasts and radio from around the globe. TuneIn broadcasts over 100,000 radio stations and boasts thousands of podcasts.

With premiere distribution across 200 platforms and connected devices, TuneIn empowers listeners to “hear” what they love wherever “here” might be.

TuneIn Premium subscribers get exclusive access to commercial-free news from top networks like CNN, Fox News Radio, MSNBC, CNBC and Bloomberg, as well as live MLB, NHL, NFL and college sports programming, in addition to The Barrel of Rock.
