SOLEDAD — Soledad police are investigating an armed robbery involving an armored vehicle that occurred Friday afternoon at the H De La Rosa Shopping Center.
According to the Soledad Police Department, officers responded at about 12:52 p.m. on May 29 to the 2400 block of H De La Rosa Shopping Center after receiving a report of an armed robbery involving an armored vehicle.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the armored vehicle was assaulted by four armed suspects, police said. The suspects allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area in a vehicle.
During the investigation, officers determined the suspects abandoned the initial getaway vehicle near the shopping center and fled in a second vehicle. Police later located the second vehicle abandoned about one mile outside Soledad city limits.
Investigators believe the suspects then fled the area in an unknown third vehicle.
No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon, and the investigation remains active and ongoing, according to police.
“Detectives are actively pursuing leads and working to identify and locate all individuals involved,” police said.
