Proud of Peninsula Pride

On June 17, the Peninsula Pride Celebration and Parade returns to Monterey County. Whether you identify as straight, gay, lesbian, trans or bi, this event invites all of us to stand up for equal rights for everyone.

This includes the rights to love and marriage, employment, family life, self-love, schooling, and even the right to use the bathroom without harassment. It also includes the right to be visible, to connect with others.

In today’s political climate, it is important to stand up and stand resolutely for LGBTQ rights. I am proud to see the Peninsula hosting this celebration and parade once again.
