SALINAS VALLEY ā€” Hartnell College Foundation invites Hartnell College students to apply for the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation Scholarship, which aims to support low-income women seeking to further their education at a University of California campus.

The scholarship, which emphasizes diversity and inclusion, promotes women of color, immigrant women, AB-540 students, first generation and those returning to the workforce.

ā€œWe are thrilled for the life-changing opportunities this scholarship will unlock, influencing the future paths of our deserving students,ā€ said Jackie Cruz, vice president, office of institutional advancement at Hartnell College and executive director for the Hartnell College Foundation. ā€œIt is more than just financial support ā€” it is about helping women achieve their dreams so in turn, they give back to their communities.ā€

The Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation Scholarship is dedicated to community support and academic success, and it offers up to $20,000 over two years. The scholarship is designed to assist women from Cabrillo, Monterey or Hartnell College, who are committed to enrolling in and completing their junior and senior years at a UC.

The deadline for application submissions is Feb. 22. Interested applicants should access the application at baskinfoundation.org/scholarships, complete the form and requirements, and then send them over to [email protected]

Three exceptional candidates will be highlighted for the Baskin Foundationā€™s final selection. Hartnell College eagerly anticipates the selection of a student for this scholarship.
