GREENFIELD — Greenfield Rotary Club has announced the completion of its latest community service project, which involved the restoration of the “You’re In Greenfield” sign at Jim Maggini Memorial Park, located just north of Greenfield Memorial Hall at 615 El Camino Real.
The project was spearheaded by Rotary Club member Paul Martin, who is a contractor by trade.
Martin and fellow club members restored the sign over a period of a month and a half, bringing it back to life and up to date with new community organization signs and paint.
The sign was restored as close as possible to its original colors, messaging and design.
“The intent of the sign restoration was to join in the efforts to beautify Greenfield and make it a better place to live,” according to the Greenfield Rotary Club in a news release. “Thanks to Paul Martin’s efforts, the club was able to keep the restoration costs to a minimum while still ensuring quality work was done on the sign.”
The Rotary Club hosted a recognition event on Oct. 3 at Memorial Hall, during which Martin received a plaque from Greenfield Mayor Bob White for his work on the project.
