GREENFIELD — Martha Strange has retired from the Greenfield Post Office after 42 years of service.

Strange, whose latest role in Greenfield was the sales and service associate, gathered with her co-workers on June 30 to celebrate the occasion. She was presented with a certificate from Area Vice President Al Santos in the morning.

Postmaster Linda Vasquez described Strange as dependable, having only seen her call in sick once in five years.

Strange said she was thankful for everything, crediting good customers and co-workers during her decades with the postal service. She now wants to enjoy her retirement and has some plans for vacations and projects around her house.
