GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police Sgt. Justin Mattke has graduated from the FBI National Academy, Session 297, the department announced in April.
The FBI National Academy, located at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Va., is a 10-week professional development program for law enforcement leaders from around the world.
The academy focuses on advanced leadership, communication, fitness and executive-level law enforcement training. Participants are selected based on demonstrated experience, professionalism and dedication to public service.
Mattke is only the second sergeant from the Greenfield Police Department to complete the program.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to my beautiful wife, Marlene,” said Mattke in a statement. “The sacrifices she made and the countless days and nights she spent holding down the home front made this experience possible. None of this would have happened without her support, and I am incredibly thankful.”
Mattke also gave thanks to Greenfield Police Chief Guillermo Mixer and Capt. Andres Paredes “for all their mentorship and support in my career. You both are examples of true leaders,” he said.
“Congratulations again to Session 297,” Mattke added. “It was an unforgettable experience.”
Greenfield Police Department noted that Mattke’s graduation reflects the agency’s continued commitment to advanced training and professional development for its personnel.
“Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Mattke on this accomplishment and his continued service to our community,” the department said.
