SALINAS — Coastal Kids Home Care will host its 12th annual Touch-A-Truck fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Salinas Rodeo Grounds.
Presented by the Don Chapin Company, the event will feature more than 50 vehicles, including fire engines, construction equipment, public safety vehicles, heavy trucks and specialty rigs. Children can climb aboard the vehicles, explore the equipment and meet the crews who operate them.
A Cal Star air medical rescue helicopter also will be on display. The event will include interactive activities, local food trucks and a community stage featuring live music, dance, youth demonstrations and cultural performances.
“Touch-A-Truck is one of our favorite days of the year. Families get to climb into the trucks, meet the people behind them and create lasting memories together,” said Margy Mayfield, founder and CEO of Coastal Kids Home Care. “What makes the event even more meaningful is that every admission directly supports local children receiving medical care, therapy and support services at home. When families attend Touch-A-Truck, they are helping other families throughout our region receive the care they need during some of life’s most challenging moments.”
Proceeds from the annual fundraiser support Coastal Kids Home Care, a nonprofit that provides in-home medical care, therapy and support services for children with serious illness and injury in Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Santa Clara counties.
