GREENFIELD — Greenfield High School student artists had their works on display last Wednesday and Thursday at the annual art show that took place in the school library.

According to art teacher Nathan Krier, the art show turned the library into an eye-catching environment.

“Isabel Aguirre is a talented interior decorator,” Krier said. “She turns the Greenfield High School art show into an atmosphere of a high-end art gallery. Many students found the art show to be inspiring and decorated with very unique works of art.”

Students were able to display 10 or more pieces of art and had many of their works for sale.

Elijah Valli, 17, enjoys using a pen or marker in his artwork.

“I usually express my drawings in ink, ink pens and sometimes I incorporate spray paint,” Valli said. “With pens I can get my art to be more like reality. I’m in Art 3 right now and I plan to continue to take more art courses, maybe minor in it, or major into it and become an art teacher.”

Senior Belinda Cordero prefers to express herself by drawing flowers and nature.

“I really like drawing flowers, because flowers are so beautiful,” Cordero said. “I only work with paintings and canvasses and all that and I enjoy using acrylic. Art is just something I just enjoy doing, it’s just for fun.”

Julio Prado-Flores, another senior art student, likes to draw cars, as he has plans to become an auto mechanic and has a passion for cars of all types.

“I want to work on cars, and with art I can draw the cars that I like, and drawing allows me to be creative,” Prado-Flores said. “I enjoy different types of art forms, including some Japanese art styles.”

Other art students were impressed by the work of their fellow students.

“I found it eye-opening to see how creative other students are,” said Art 4 student Alejandra Villegas. “They are very talented.”

Along with the artwork that many of the students had for sale, photography teacher Maribel Tinajero and art teacher Joseph Turek contributed with photography and graphic design.
