GONZALES — Gonzales High School Sober Graduation Committee and Goodwill Central Coast will be joining forces once again for a donation drive this Saturday and Sunday at the Gonzales Shopping Center.

The Goodwill drive will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 26 and 27. The community can donate such items as clothing, linens, shoes, boots, purses, jewelry, dishes, glassware, utensils, lamps and small appliances. Books, textbooks, CDs, videos, DVDs, games and sporting goods will also be accepted, as well as computers and computer software and equipment.

Sober Graduation is typically the night senior students graduate from high school and was created to ensure that alcohol-related driving incidents did not occur while students were celebrating this milestone.

The Sober Grad Committee will receive some funding for every truck that is completely filled. The proceeds will go toward the event’s festivities and prizes for the grads.
