GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police Department has announced the arrest of a Gonzales man who allegedly molested three juvenile victims in South Monterey County.

On March 14, two juveniles reported sexual abuse by Eleuterio Ortiz, 38, of Gonzales.

Following the report, Greenfield detectives, with the support of Homeland Security Investigations and the Soledad Police Department, conducted an investigation, which led to the identification of a third juvenile victim.

Greenfield Police said the collaboration between the agencies facilitated the location and arrest of Ortiz, who was apprehended without incident. He is currently being held at the Monterey County Jail on multiple charges, including child molestation and rape.

“We want to take this moment to reiterate to all survivors of sexual assault: Your voice matters, and we are here to support you,” police said. “Coming forward about such abuse requires an incredible amount of strength, and we want every survivor to know that we believe you and will investigate your case with the utmost sensitivity and respect.”
