Flag football teams ready for tournament

GONZALES — With the regular season complete, teams from the Shield Bearers Flag Football Program of Gonzales will begin the first round of the league tournament on Friday as the second and third place teams in each conference will play each other for the right to play the conference leader in a double header for the league title.

In Conference A of the mini’s division the Packers and Vikings will play at 5:30 p.m. to earn a chance to play the top seeded Bears.

In Conference B the Bengals and Falcons place at 5:30 p.m., and the winner will face the Ravens at 6:30 p.m.

In the juniors division the Titans were undefeated for the regular season and earned the top seed in the tournament. The Saints will play the Texans and the Titans meet the Jaguars in the first round.

The championship games for both divisions will take play on Friday, July 20, at Dick Force Stadium in Gonzales with the third place games scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. and the championship games will start at 6:30 p.m.
