GONZALES — The Gonzales FFA has announced that 24 Gonzales High School agricultural students earned their California State FFA Degree.
To earn this degree, students must be in their third or fourth year of an agriculture course, have at least 500 hours in their SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience Program) and have earned a profit, among many other requirements.
The following is a list of Gonzales FFA students who earned their State FFA Degree: Samantha Santos, Colt Rubbo, Beatriz Rosas, Adriana Duran, Whilliam Alonzo
Dayanara Deleon, Elizabeth Maciel, Edwin Sanchez, Giselle Valdez, Selene Virgin, Fatima Velasquez, Andrea Rivera, Victoria Sotelo, Linda Rodriguez, Kimberly Ruiz, Nazario Jimenez, David Mejia, Elias Rico, Ricardo Manzo, Julian Santos, Marielena Ramirez, Jovany Camacho, Ruben Uribe and Jennifer Valdez-Herrera.
The year after the member qualifies and receives their chapter FFA degree, they can apply for the State FFA Degree and submit it to the regional supervisor, who will conduct a State FFA degree scoring to evaluate each application. Those applications that meet the State FFA Degree qualifications are then forwarded to the State FFA Executive Committee for final approval.
Roughly 1,800 FFA State Degrees are handed out each year, only about 3 percent of the California FFA Association members earn the degree making it the highest state honor.
