SALINAS VALLEY — Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, King City Police Department and Salinas Police Department have scheduled a joint press conference Friday morning to make a major announcement involving three ongoing investigations.

Officials are planning to unveil “significant developments” related to the double homicide that occurred Feb. 2 in South Monterey County, the King City mass shooting on March 3 and an armed robbery that took place in Salinas.

Speaking at the press conference will be Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto, King City Police Chief James Hunt, Interim Salinas Police Chief John Murray, District 3 Supervisor Chris Lopez and King City Mayor Mike LeBarre.

The press conference will be held at 9 a.m. at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, located at 1414 Natividad Road, in Salinas. It will also be live-streaming on the King City Police Department’s Facebook page.
