GONZALES — Gonzales Spartans wrestling team competed in the Lynbrook 2nd Man and Ladies Challenge on Jan. 22, placing third as a team among the 45 teams participating in the tournament.

Five Spartan wrestlers took home medals: Carlos Alvarez, 285 pounds, second place; Anthony Cisneros, 108 pounds, third place; Natalia Villalobos, 116 pounds, fifth place; Jose Viorato, 145 pounds, first place; and Andrew Zarate, 285 pounds, first place.
