SALINAS VALLEY — Landowners, growers and community members are invited to attend upcoming workshops focused on river management in the Salinas Valley.

The workshops will provide information and gather public feedback on new analyses related to flooding and flood impacts, allowable river management activities under existing programs, and potential approaches to water, vegetation and program management.

Organizers said participant input will help guide future program development, permitting and funding efforts.

The workshops are co-hosted by the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County and the Salinas Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainability Agency in partnership with the Monterey County Water Resources Agency, Monterey County Farm Bureau, Salinas River Management Unit Association and Grower-Shipper Association of Central California.

Identical workshops are scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. on May 7 in Soledad and May 8 in Salinas. Space is limited.
