First graders at La Gloria Elementary School received a surprise Aug. 13, the first day of school, from Taylor Farms, which gave backpacks to every first-grade student.
City of Gonzales, Mann Packing team up for second wind turbine
A second wind turbine will soon join the Taylor Farms wind turbine in Gonzales. The City Council approved a wind turbine site lease agreement between the City and Mann Packing Company Inc. on Nov. 20.

The California Lions Club 82nd Annual Student Speaker Contest has named Timothy Mercuri of King City High School as the regional champion of this year’s competition featuring the topic, “Freedom of the Press.”
