Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Carl Sedoryk discussed the future of MST transportation and facility location to Soledad Rotarians on Aug. 10.

Students from throughout Soledad, Gonzales, Greenfield and King City arrived at the Soledad High School multipurpose room March 21 to showcase what they learned in science class and present their science projects during the Science Maker Faire.

Over the summer Nayeli Gomez and Cindy Aguilar were part of a Youth Council Summer Fellowship program, during which they experienced working with city agencies and leading their fellow classmates who joined them as part of the Gonzales Youth Council for the 2018-19 school year.

Retiring Gonzales Police Chief Paul Miller is presented with a certificate from Monterey County Board of Supervisors Simon Salinas during his retirement party at Constellation Winery.

Luigi’s Restaurant was recently named Small Business of the Year by the Monterey County Business Council. Luigi’s is one of four businesses in Monterey County to earn the honor.

Once again the annual Swiss Picnic drew families to the Gonzales Swiss Rifle Club for a day of music, barbecue and family Aug. 19.

This year’s Annual Tree Lighting in Gonzales was full of holiday cheer and, of course, lots of Christmas lights.

Bomb squad demonstrations, suspect take downs, search and rescue station along with food and drinks were all part of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Strolling Dinner.
