Heritage hog sells for $33K
Gonzales High School FFA Chapter President and Monterey Bay Sectional Reporter Samantha Santos, who was selected as the Monterey County Fairās 2017 Heritage Scholarship winner, auctioned off two hogs Sept. 2 at the fair, one of which ā the heritage hog ā sold for more than $33,000.

The Salinas Annual Veterans Day Parade brought many local veterans as well as high school groups, such as Soledad High School NJROTC and Gonzales Marching Band, to honor veterans Nov. 11 at Downtown Main Street.
Drug take-back yields 7 boxes
