School district looks to fill vacant board position

A vacancy has come up on the Gonzales Unified School District Board of Trustees, and the district has 60 days to fill the position.

One Night Out

Every second Tuesday of the month, hungry customers can find John Sargenti making polenta. Sargenti is known throughout Salinas Valley for his skill at the dish.

Additional renewable energy sources being considered

The City of Gonzales is considering expanding renewable energy produced throughout the city with the aid of ZeroCity LLC, OurEnergy, NHA Advisors and Hilltop Securities.

New officer swears in

The City of Gonzales has a new police officer, Ruben Pulido, who was sworn in July 16 in the City Council Chambers.

Putting down roots

Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum (MCARLM) is featuring a new exhibit called ā€œSouth County Rootsā€ that opened this summer, created by the second cycle of high school interns, focusing on the lost towns of Monterey County.
