GONZALES — South Alta Street to Gonzales River Road to Dole’s south entrance are the focus of the Alta Street construction for the next couple weeks.
Dole and Constellation employees must use Gloria Road, according to Public Works Director Harold Wolgamott.
Streets A, B and C are open as well as alleys. The project started Feb. 9 and was estimated to take three weeks.
“Granite construction is working with the apartment managers to provide temporary parking for many of the apartments in the area,” Wolgamott said. “There will be areas marked for safe crossing.”
The last phase of the pavement project is expected to start in March during the first week. It’s the largest two intersections, Gonzales River Road at Alta and 10th Street at Alta.
“The finish layer goes on the whole project, stripping and raising the utility covers to grade,” Wolgamott said. “These will be done with small areas blocked temporarily as they progress along Alta.”
