GONZALES — A group of determined and wet runners and walkers braved chilly conditions Saturday at the Gonzales Parent Teacher Community Advisory (PTCA) Color Fun Run that took place in the morning at Dick Force Stadium in Gonzales.

The event included a 1-mile race and a 5K race. Participants walked or ran the course around the track as they were being sprayed with color all the way to the finish line.

“This was our first color run and we’re pleased to have children and adults come out and take part,” said PTCA President Maribel Correa.

“Having the rain meant the runners and walkers had to walk on the wet grass. Next time we will plan to have the event when there is no rain or wet conditions,” Correa added.

As the registered runners and walkers entered the stadium they received their race packets that included a race bib and a “My School Color Run” T-shirt. The new shirts did not stay clean for too long as tanks with various colors gave the shirts a new look.
