GONZALES — The Gonzales High School baseball team concluded the MTAL season last week with a loss and win over the Trinity Christian Warriors.

Gonzales suffered a tough 9-7 loss to the Warriors then bounced back to defeat them 9-2 in the season finale.

“We let a couple of games slip away down the stretch,” said Gonzales head coach Erik Lopez. “It was still a good season. I have 10 players that will return so we should be in good shape for a run next year.”

In the win over the visiting Warriors, Gonzales Villagomez finished with three hits and knocked in six runs. Villagomez earned the pitching win with five innings of work and had a total of five strikeouts.
