SOLEDAD — Eden Valley Care Center, a skilled nursing facility in Soledad, was filled with warmth and gratitude this Valentine’s Day as it received a heartwarming surprise from the students of King City High School ASB Class.

Under the guidance of their instructor, Lauren Page, the students, including junior Samantha Muñoz, demonstrated extraordinary kindness by creating and delivering 80 beautiful Valentine’s Day cards to the residents of Eden Valley. Each card was meticulously designed with love and care, reflecting the students’ heartfelt desire to brighten the day of the elderly members of their community.

Page expressed her pride in her students’ initiative and empathy.

“Our class eagerly embraced the opportunity to spread joy and love to the senior citizens in our community,” she said. “Witnessing the impact of our small gestures has been truly heartwarming.”

A total of 118 cards were distributed between Mee Memorial Hospital in King City and Eden Valley Care Center, personally delivered by Muñoz. The residents of the facility were deeply touched by the thoughtful gesture, receiving the cards with joy and appreciation.

Reflecting on the experience, Muñoz shared, “This feels very good. My grandma passed away a couple of years ago, and it was hard for us to go see her. So doing this for people who may be in the same situation feels very good.”

The Eden Valley residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the students for their kindness and generosity. The cards served as a reminder that they are cherished members of the community, loved and remembered by their neighbors.

“Receiving these heartfelt Valentine’s Day cards from King City High School ASB Class has truly warmed the hearts of our residents at Eden Valley Care Center,” said Jenifer Rodriguez, activities director. “Their thoughtful gestures, including the hand-drawn pictures on the cards, brought immeasurable joy and smiles to our community. We are deeply grateful for their kindness.”
