SOLEDAD — City of Soledad will host its State of the City Address at the Soledad Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 17.
The program will start at 6 p.m. with a welcome from Soledad Mayor Anna Velazquez, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Color Guard from Soledad High School’s NJROTC.
“The State of the City Address is an important opportunity to share and celebrate with our community the city’s progress on critical projects and services in 2021 and upcoming initiatives in 2022,” Velazquez said. “These past two years have brought forth many challenges, but also many opportunities. There is much work to do and I look forward to working with our community to improve the quality of life for all residents.”
City Manager Brent Slama will provide the community with updates, 2021 highlights and the financial wellness of the city. Areas of focus include updates from the following departments: Economic Development, Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, as well as goals for 2022 and Soledad’s future initiatives.
Soledad Youth Council plans to speak on 2022 goals that are policy-focused for the year ahead.
According to Slama, this will be an informational event that keeps the community up to date on what has happened, what is taking place and what is to come.
“We are excited about the upcoming year for Soledad and look forward to sharing with the public the projects and initiatives that will be coming in the near future,” Slama said.
