GREENFIELD — The Soledad High girls softball team scored 11 runs in the top of the second inning on their way to a 14-0 shutout victory over the host Greenfield Bruins last Tuesday afternoon. Elena Meza earned the pitching win allowing just three hits by the Bruins.

Celeste Canchola hit a double, a basehit and one run batted in, and Savannah Bermudez scored two runs and had two walks. Celeste Parra made the most of her basehit with two RBIs, and Skylah Fregoso hit a double, a basehit and was credited with three RBIs. Also contributing were Meza with two hits, Evelina Ramirez with a double, a basehit and two RBI’s, and Adriana Valdez with two hits and three RBIs.

Soledad improved to 4-3 in the Mission Trail Athletic League and is 4-3 overall. Yesterday the Lady Aztecs hosted the Marina Mariners and will be traveling to Santa Maria at the end of the week to play in the St. Joseph’s Tournament.
