SOLEDAD — An off-duty Soledad correctional officer with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation was arrested Wednesday for annoying and molesting minors.

According to Salinas Police, 22-year-old Fabian Vasquez was communicating with and sending sexually explicit images and videos to two females under age 14.

Officers arrested Vasquez on Nov. 3 while he was off duty and booked him into Monterey County Jail. He faces charges for communicating with a minor with sexual intent, sending sexually explicit content to a minor, and annoying and molesting a child.

Police said CDCR has been notified and is cooperating with the investigation.
