GONZALES — Homecoming struck Gonzales High School on Sept. 28 as parade floats, the marching band, sports teams and royal courts made their way down Fifth Street.

Gonzales Police Department led the way, followed by Mayor Maria Orozco, Superintendent Yvette Irving and Principal Julius Purnsley as well as football players, cross country runners, cheerleaders and the marching band. This year the theme of the floats was Disney movies.

Following each class float was the Homecoming Court from each class level. Rounding out the parade were the Gonzales Fire Department and several horse back riders.

Later that night, during the Spartans football game halftime, seniors Jacqueline Hernandez and Ivan Lopez were crowned this year’s Homecoming Queen and King, respectively.
