GONZALES — First-ever Grande Royal Tea Party joined together the Gonzales Youth Guardians with the Adventure Seeking Seniors group May 18.

Gonzales Youth Guardians are supervised by Jean Salcido, who is also one of the founding members of the Adventure Seeking Seniors. The senior group is a collaborative effort between Salcido, Hope Cota and Mary Hoagland.

The party was possible through funding from Measure K grants from the City of Gonzales. Each participant was able to take home the tea cup they used that took Gloria Ramudo a year to collect.

“We’ve been waiting for the younger generations,” Ramudo said.

A harpist and dancer performed for the tea party attendees. The tea party was held at Iglesia Apostolica de Gonzales on Center Street.
