SOLEDAD — Veterans and active duty banner program applications are available in Soledad. The program will recognize Soledad residents who have served or are serving in the military. The program will honor those individuals with a banner displaying their name and picture hung on Front Street, with installation planned prior to Veterans Day. MONTEREY COUNTY — Free homework help via Zoom is being hosted by Monterey County Free Libraries. The library system, with branches throughout South Monterey County, will have personnel available to help virtually, as they did in-person before library closures due to Covid-19. ROADWORK DETOURS

KING CITY — A Caltrans pavement rehabilitation construction project along Highway 101 near King City continues, with the northbound First Street off ramp closing from today, Sept. 23, until Oct. 20. Temporary detours will be made available. Northbound motorists on Highway 101 will be directed off at the Wild Horse Road exit in order to access First Street via Mesa Verde Road. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
