MEAL PROGRAM
SALINAS VALLEY — United Way Monterey County is partnering with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to help expand their food delivery programs to residents who have currently tested positive for Covid-19 and are in their isolation period. This initiative provides one meal per day, Monday through Friday, for 10 days to Covid-positive residents to help them remain in their home and address food-related needs during that time. Participating cities include Salinas, Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield and King City.
COMMUNITY EXPO
JOLON — Fort Hunter Liggett’s Department of Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host its annual Community Expo on Sept. 23, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the MWR Old Firehouse Building 120. All guests will need to be vetted prior to event entry. LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
GONZALES — In collaboration with the Monterey County Health Department, the City of Gonzales will be hosting enLACE, an eight-week leadership and civic engagement academy. The academy will take place every Thursday, starting Sept. 23 through Nov. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn about local government and the value of lifelong civic engagement, meet and build positive relationships with community leaders and connect with their community.
