High school students take on advisory role in city leadership

SOLEDAD — New members of the Soledad Youth Council took the dais during their introduction to the Soledad City Council at the Sept. 1 council meeting.

New members include ninth grader Angelina Flores, 10th grader Liliana Negrette, 11th graders Chinemerem Elelleh, Jacqueline Urena and Ethan Solorio, and 12th graders Layla Ahmed, Alan Briseno, Israel Crystalinas, Adrianna Escobar, Perla Espinoza, James Pantoja, Devannie Ruiz, Hernan Valdez, Daynalei Valdez and Sofia Vargas.

Members of the youth council serve an advisory role to the city council and regularly deliver reports on issues they feel are important during the city governance meetings.
