DROP-OFF EVENT
KING CITY — A King City Community Drop-Off Event will take place Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St. Accepted items include mattresses, appliances, yard waste and clean wood, electronics, metals, furniture and tires. Neither commercial dumping nor trash will be accepted. There will also be a full household hazardous waste collection. CLAM CHOWDER FUNDRAISER
LOCKWOOD — Nacitone Museum Foundation will host its fifth annual Clam Chowder dine-in or takeout fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Harden Lockwood Community Center, 65951 Lockwood/San Lucas Road, in Lockwood. Attendees can enjoy all-you-can-eat chowder, bread, salad, homemade desserts and beverages available for purchase. Tickets are sold at Pine Canyon Store, Pleyo Store and from all Nacitone directors. The event will accept debit, credit and Venmo payments. Proceeds support the museum’s programs and initiatives.
DAY OF THE DEAD
SOLEDAD — City of Soledad will host its third annual Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Soledad Community Center. This free, family-friendly event honors Mexican traditions with a grand altar, traditional music, dance performances, crafts and vendors. Highlights include the Catrina Contest for ages 16 and older, featuring elaborate costumes and makeup inspired by La Catrina. Attendees can celebrate loved ones and enjoy vibrant cultural displays. KING CITY — King City in Bloom will host a cleanup event on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St., to pick up gloves and bags. Free coffee and donuts will be available.
