POOL CLOSURE

SOLEDAD — Soledad-Mission Recreation District announced Oct. 25 that the Soledad Pool would be closed until further notice due to a water pump needing repair. “We are working to get this resolved as soon as possible,” the district said. A credit will be applied to all swim lessons and aquatic passes during this time, and private lessons will be rescheduled. The office will remain open for registration and questions.


TAX VOLUNTEERS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Alliance on Aging (AOA), a local nonprofit that provides services and programs to older adults, is in need of volunteers for the upcoming 2022 tax season. Each year, AOA partners with the IRS and the CA Franchise Tax Board to provide free tax assistance on Federal and State income tax returns to hundreds of Monterey County older adults. Those interested in volunteering should call Rita Hill at 831-655-4242 for more information. Some tax knowledge is required. Training will be provided. Average commitment is 10 hours per week during tax season.


FILM BOARD

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Film Commission is looking for volunteer board members from all parts of Monterey County, especially the Salinas Valley and North County, and those with nonprofit experience and diverse fields of interest. The nonprofit organization was established in 1987 to attract and facilitate film productions for economic development.
