BLOOD DRIVE

KING CITY — The City of King and King City Rotary Club are partnering with Vitalant to host a community blood drive on Monday, Nov. 27, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St. Appointments are encouraged; sign up at vitalant.org or call 877-258-4825. Donors will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.


LISTENING SESSION

SAN ARDO — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and his District 3 office are hosting a series of listening sessions throughout South Monterey County. The next session will take place Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at San Ardo Elementary School, 62428 Center St. in San Ardo. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community and county government.


LIGHTED PARADE

KING CITY — It’s time to start decorating a float for the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s Lighted Christmas Parade, set for Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in downtown King City. The theme this year is “Toy Trains and Candy Canes.” Santa will be at the Plaza after the parade, along with vendor booths and entertainment. BONUS BRIEF: TRANSPORTATION AWARDS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is accepting nominations for its 22nd Annual Transportation Excellence Awards. The awards honor individuals, businesses, groups or programs and projects for their efforts to improve the transportation system in Monterey County. The one-page nomination form is due by noon on Dec. 1. The nomination form is available at tamcmonterey.org/transportation-excellence-awards. The award recipients will be honored during the regular TAMC Board meeting in January.
